Shell said Tuesday morning that it has put out an overnight fire that broke out at one of the processing units at its 250,000 b/d Norco refinery in St. Charles Parish, Louisiana. In a 9 a.m. CT update on its Facebook page,

Venezuela's state-run PDVSA on Wednesday was trying ​to control a large fire at ‌the 310,000-barrel-per-day Cardon refinery's fluid catalytic cracker, according to eight workers from the oil company and ​videos seen by Reuters.

Shell and third-party providers did not initially detect elevated levels of chemical emissions from the overnight fire.
