Apple announced M5 updates for its MacBook Air and MacBook Pro lines earlier today.

Apple ’s spring hardware refresh is under way, led by two mainstream releases so far: the iPhone 17e and an updated iPad Air built around the M4 chip borrowed from Apple’s higher-end machines.

Apple says that M5 Pro and M5 Max use an “all-new Fusion Architecture” that welds two silicon chiplets into a single processor.
